The Jesus Walkers threw a surprise birthday party for Fr. John, Saturday, April 12. His birthday is actually on the 14th, TODAY :) The venue - Tony Roma’s at Glendale… Mmmm, Mmmm, Ribs. Was he surprised? He kinda got a little suspicious half an hour before the event but was still not definite until he walked in the restaurant. SURPRISE!! It was a night of fun, laughter, good fellowship, and of course, food… including a cake from Porto’s. Some of the authors met for the first time so it was also a night of introductions.
Fr. John, we hope you enjoyed it and have a happy and blessed birthday… from all of us, The Jesus Walkers.
Fr. John presented with his cake and ‘40′ candles!
So, what did you wish for again?
I was scrolling through the entries of our blog and it has come a long way. I don’t remember when it started but I’m sure it is less than 6 months old! Thank you Fr. John for giving us this medium to share our faith with one another. We are all so busy with our lives that we have not even gathered together to meet, yet we have shared much already.
Are any of you guys interested in having a ‘Day of Recollection’? I’m thinking maybe before the school year ends or right before summer begins. We have ample time to pick a day. It would be a blessing to have a full day just to spend some quiet time with our Lord with reflection and sharing or just pure silence :) AND Fr. John doesn’t have to plan the entire day so he too can have a chance to reflect and be still in God’s presence. No pressure on goals or topics to cover… just to ‘kick-back’ from it all and rest in the quiet of our Lord.
Since the RTOT meeting was postponed last month, it is going to be happening this Saturday at 10am. If anyone is interested in helping coordinate the SF Region’s Theology on Tap this year, you’re more than welcome to join in the fun at the San Fernando Regional Office*.
We are currently looking for young adult volunteers to serve in a variety of capacities from hospitality, to prayer, food coordination, decorations, etc. We’ve got a good group of people who currently serve on the team and are always looking for some new blood!
RTOT is a great way to interact with other young adults in our region while hearing some really awesome speakers sharing their faith. If anyone is interested in coming up on Saturday, feel free to leave a comment and maybe we can head over together!
*The SF Regional Office is located at: 15105 San Fernando Mission Rd. in Mission Hills.
